Dear Editor,

Goals from Kelechi Iheanacho, Bryan Idowu and Alex Iwobi were what the Nigerian national team needed to humble the Argentine national team deprived of the services of five-times FIFA Footballer of the Year, Lionel Messi.  It was indeed a matter of national pride as the Super Eagles rode to victory in Krasnodar. Celebrating this feat, at the end of the game, only one thing mattered, NIGERIA, the players took great pride in hoisting high the national flag.

Though the game was of little importance in the sight of many, as it was just a friendly game, the aftermath will definitely go along way in ensuring that the team spirit as well as confidence is boosted ahead of the World Cup in Russia 2018. The Nigeria Football Federation under the leadership of Amadu Pinnick must ensure that all facilities are put in place to achieve a successful outing, ranging from team allowance to match bonuses. And Coach Gernot Rohr must ensure that team selection is unbiased. For once in recent years, the hope of Nigerians on the Super Eagles is high, and all must contribute in writing a success story.
