INFORMATION COMMISSIONER AROLOGUN COMMENDS CHURCH FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICE

THE OYO STATE Commissioner for Information, Mr Toye Arulogun, has commended the Catholic Church for its service to humanity.

He made the commendation at the Christmas party titled “Celebtating Mother and Child” on 17 December organised by St Dominic Catholic Hospital, Ogungbade, Ibadan.

He said though government could not do everything, there was need for individuals and stakeholders to support the community. He commended the hospital management for their good work, saying it was God that brought them to Oyo State.

Earlier, the administrator of the hospital, Sr Ijeoma Okoye, OP, in her Christmas message had affirmed that “Christmas is not what people have, but who they are in Christ being the children of God.”

According to her, the birth of Jesus Christ transforms the story of human tragedy after his fall in the Garden of Eden to glorious joy.

The administrator said the hospital was rejoicing with mothers and their babies as no death was recorded from the 200 deliveries they had in the year.

Gifts were presented to mothers whose babies came in special ways such as the one that weighed 5kg and first female and male twins of the year.
