SUNDAY SPIRITUAL BANQUET: Ish 66:18-21, Heb. 12:11-13, Lk. 12:22-30. On this Twenty first Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C, the Church reminds us of the reunion of those who are willing to submit to the loving care of our God. The first reading recalls the prophesy of the return of God’s People to Jerusalem. It is an assurance that God will fulfil His promise of restoring us to Himself. Apart from gathering us for the glory of His name, God will also make us His ambassadors to other nations. Hence, God commissions us to: “Go out to the whole world and proclaim the Good News.” This Good New is that God will restore our lost glory, for the sake of His glory.

Today's second reading reminds us that it is obedience and discipline that will help us respond and effectively return to the Lord. The path to this return will definitively not be an easy one. In it, we shall encounter thorns and pains. As a Loving Father, God will reprimand and punish us in order to correct and guide us through the right path. Success is achieved through hard work and hard work through discipline and obedience. Today's Gospel builds on this point when Jesus answers a very difficult question: "Sir, will there be only a few saved?" His response was very simple, smart and of course, an intelligent one: “Try your best to enter by the narrow door…! Rather than occupy ourselves with unlimited arguments about the number of those to be saved, it is better to work hard in order to be saved. We must do what we have do by playing our roles well. We are therefore called to be focused and disciplined in order to be part of the great gathering of the saints.

May the Lord continue to guide us in the path of true love and show this same love in our interactions with others! Amen!! Good morning and happy Sunday!!!
