The Kingdom of God grows steadily

The Kingdom of God grows steadily

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Heb. 10:32-39, Mk 4:26:34. A little seed turns into a large tree, just like little drops of water makes an ocean. The Kingdom of God that is already present in us, is yet to come to it full realisation. In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks about the steady growth of the Kingdom of God. Jesus sows the seed of this Kingdom in our souls when were baptised. Today, we are challenged to allow the seed of the Kingdom of God to grow in our hearts and souls. There are still many areas of our lives where Christ is yet to reign in spite of our piety and attendant at Mass. Like the seed that grows slowly but steady, this seed of the Kingdom is so powerful and nothing can stop it from growing; for its growth is natural and unstoppable because God is guiding its growth.

God is in charge of the plan for the growth and development of the Kingdom in the world and in us. Not to recognise the Kingdom of God which is already among us will deprive us of the full realisation of the Kingdom of God we anticipate at the fullness of time. We must therefore make it our constant aim to do what pleases the Lord and endure to the end as the first reading tells us: "You will need endurance to do God’s will and gain what he has promised".
May the Lord grant us the grace of final perseverance so that the Kingdom of God may come to it full realisation in our life! Amen!! Good morning and have a glorious day!!!
