Come and See
By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

1 Jn 3:7-10, Jn 1:35-42. There are times in our life when we could drift from the awareness that we are children of God, yet we constantly experience the love of God. Today’s first reading reminds us that we are beloved children of God. John reminds us that those who have hope based on gaining a deeper understanding of God’s love make themselves pure as God is pure. This is to tell us that we are “work in progress” and can become better.

As the Christmas and New Year’s events continue and we begin to return to our daily routines, let us be reminded that we are beloved children of God. Like the disciples of John were called to "Come and See", we are invited to draw close to God and behold Him. In such contemplative look, we could be able to empty ourselves before God and gain the wisdom that will help us to be available to others. From now on, let us turn towards God, our loving Father and Creator, embracing the love which He has lavished upon us and the compassionate care and mercy that He has given us. Let us wholeheartedly serve Him from now on, dedicating ourselves to love Him and walk in His path, in what we say and do.

May the Lord be with us always and may we continue to walk faithfully in His path, devoting ourselves and becoming ever closer to Him, now and always! Amen!! Good morning and have a joyful day!!!
