John 8:12; "Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

John 8:12; "Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

By REV. FR. PAUL ANIGBORO

Making a decision to follow someone comes with its own sacrifice. Today we are challenged with this question who do you follow? The Prophet Isaiah told the people of Israel that if they had kept the commandments of God, there peace would have been like a river. The Psalmist tells us in Psalm 1 that blessed are they who follow not the counsel of the wicked nor linger in the way of sinner but whose delight is in the law of the Lord.

There are two ways before us: the way of the Lord and the way of the world. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). To follow Jesus is to walk in light. The way of the world leads to doom and destruction. Following God comes with its own persecution and thorns but in the long run, it leads to heaven, our true home. Following the world may bring us earthly pleasures and fulfilment but in the long run, it leads to hell fire, a place meant for Satan and his angels. Decide today who you want to follow.

Lord, help us to follow you all the days of our life and may we be Christian both in words and deeds. Amen.

Good morning and do have a wonderful day. God loves you.
