Luke 21:8; "Beware that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name and say, ‘I am he!’"

Luke 21:8; "Beware that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name and say, ‘I am he!’"

By REV. FR. PAUL ANIGBORO

Once we are at the end of the liturgical year, the theme for reflection always take into cognizant the end of the world. This is not meant to scare us and make us panic. Rather, it is meant to put us in check, bidding us take responsibility for our actions, examine where we are spiritually, and honestly come face to face with God.

Themes on end of the world are full of symbolic languages which are not meant to be taken literally. They are not meant to make us jittery or fearful to the extent that we now start pretending. We are called to be people of sincerity and honesty, not just bluffing our way along. We have to practice justice and mercy, characterized by sympathetic understanding of the human situation of our neighbour. Above all, it is an invitation to be prepared always and not allow ourselves to be led astray by fake teachers.

Lord, may I be ready and prepared to go with you when you shall come again. Amen.

Good morning and do have a wonderful day ahead. God loves you.
