Everyone shall be judged accordingly

Everyone shall be judged accordingly

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Rev. 14:14-19, Lk. 21:5-11. Today's first reading presents us with the vision of the judgement day. This vision shows that we are all going to be judged one day and we would be separated like the wheat and the sheep are separated from the weeds and the goats. All those who failed to allow the reign of Christ will certainly meet with eternal condemnation. We shall be part of the 'sheep' if we faithfully live our lives based on the teachings of Christ. Those who went away from Jesus, 'the Way' and accepted some other teachings, values and ways of life will be gathered together like weeds and thrown away to be burnt. Jesus died on the cross to save us all. He has proven His love for us and clearly wants us to be with Him always.

We must appreciate His love and concern for us always by acknowledging His presence. The Temple of Jerusalem with its adornment was a gift from God to establish His presence among men, His chosen people but for them it was a mere structure for worship. In today's Gospel, Jesus prophesied about the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple, a monument every Jew took great pride in because they refused to acknowledge the presence of God. God extends His grace and mercy to us and we are called to appreciate His mercy and draw close to Him.

May the Lord help us to use His gifts generously and wisely so that we may forever remain faithful all the days of our life! Amen!! Good morning and have a pleasant day!!!
