Seek the truth, live in love and build our lives on the teaching of Christ

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

2 Jn 1:4-9, Lk. 17:26-37. When we are caught up in the attractions of the created world, we sometimes lose sight of our Creator, who is over and above all things. The same attractions disrupt our senses, so we become blind to the signs of time and deaf to the voice of God. In today's Gospel, Jesus predicts that His coming in glory will take people unaware because people preoccupy themselves with the concerns of the world and forget God. So dangerous is this allurement that our commitment to ephemeral things often becomes idolatrous, such that God's place is taken over by other concerns and loyalties.

Today, we are challenged to take decisive action to stay focused and God-centred. Let us allow God to open our eyes to see where the road of life leads us. The path Christ invites us into, according to the first reading, is the path to love: "The commandment which you have heard since the beginning is to live a life of love." Our call is to seek the truth, live in love, keep the Commandments, shun error and build our lives on the teaching of Christ.

May the Lord bless us with every grace and blessing, so that we may continue to build our lives on the teaching of Christ! Amen!! Good morning and have a fruitful day!!!
