Our Faith Should be seen in our daily living

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Eph. 4:32-5:8, Lk. 13:10-17. God encourages human cooperation within themselves and in building the Kingdom of God. Thus, St Paul enjoins us in today's first reading to be friends with one another and kind, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave us in Christ. Only in forgiving others that we can have the forgiveness of God in full. Our faith in Christ should be shown in the little details of our everyday life. In the cause of our daily lives, we must look around and see how we can be compassionate and avoid hurting those who love us.

Instead of the officer of the Synagogue to be compassionate and rejoice with the woman who had been under the burden of a spirit that left her enfeebled for eighteen years, he became indignant. With his shrivelled heart he could not comprehend the majesty of the divine mercy that had freed this woman from so much anguish. Rather, he was zealous for the observance of the letter of the Law. When we look on to God with eyes of faith, then we will be able to understand the eternal truths: historical events and events in our lives will take on a new meaning; pain and suffering will become comprehensible; our work will acquire a transcendental significance as an offering made to God.

As we begin this new week, may the Lord deepen our faith, strengthen our hope and enkindle our love for each other! Amen!! Good morning and have a fruitful week!!!
