Live out the Gospel Value immediately without Compromise
By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Eph. 3:14-21, Lk. 12:49-53. Today's first reading presents us with the prophetic utterance and prayer of St Paul. He prays that we may grow into a deeper understanding of the comprehensive love of God. Filled with this love, we shall be able to overcome blocks to unity in the world which human sociological factors create and grow into the 'fullness of God'. If the Church is to be the Sacrament of Christ's salvation and reconciliation in a fragmented world, the members of the Church must realise the richness of God's love which rejects inhuman discrimination.

Such fire of God's love must burn strongly to unit us without compromising the Gospel value. For Jesus to wish that such fire is blazing already, means that, He wishes that we begin to live the Gospel value immediately without compromise. That means, to be true believers would involve losing of selves, letting go of riches and possessions, being ready to stand for Christ and die for Him. Such a way of life is bound to bring up conflicts with others because we cannot be disciples of Christ by following the standards and values of this world.

May the Lord help us to remain steadfast so that we would be able to live the Gospel value without compromise! Amen!! Good morning and Peace be with you!!!
