Experience the Joy of the Lord
By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Job 42:1-3.5-6.12-17, Lk. 10:17-24. Today's first reading presents us with Job's thanksgiving songs to God. After a long period of suffering and bitterness, God re-enters and restores everything to its earlier felicity and Job continued to live happily ever after. Today, we are called to come and experience the joy of the Lord. To have this experience to the full, we must walk with Jesus and do His will.

Having done the will of Christ, the disciples returned to Jesus to recount the experience of the mission entrusted to them. They were visibly rejoicing as the demons submitted to them. However, Jesus made it clear to them that the power to work miracles is not a reason to be happy about, but for belonging to God: "Rejoice that your names are written in Heaven". All who belong to God and walk in His ways will definitely experience more joy in this world and in Heaven. Let us work for our salvation and not be lost in devising tools to defeat satan, for our salvation is a cause for ore joy. Instead of spending more time casting and binding the demon, let us spend more time in working out our salvation with good works.

May the Lord bless us and keep us from all evil and bring us to everlasting life! Amen!! Good morning and Happy Weekend!!!
