I must proclaim the Good News to other Town

I must proclaim the Good News to other Town

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

DAILY SPIRITUAL APPETISER: 1 Cor. 3:1-9, Lk. 4:38-44. To be focus in whatever we do is a simple principle but necessary step to great achievement in life. Paul and Apollos were said to be focused as narrated in today's first reading. That was why they refused to allow the personal interest of the community to divide them. Thus, Paul stresses that preachers and teachers are merely in the service of God's work and are like construction workers of God's Temple. Today's Gospel also shows us how Christ was focused in tireless activities.

The love that Jesus has for His Father keeps Him focused on His mission and saves Him from being distracted. That is why He is able to say: "I must proclaim the good news to other towns too because that is what I am sent to do". With this, we are challenged to learn from Jesus to be concerned about God's service and our neighbours' welfare as were those who crowded around the doorway bringing the sick to Jesus to be cured. Let us attend to the work of God with the same attention as Jesus did.

May the Lord shine His light on our hearts so that walking continually in the way of His Commandments we may never be deceived or misled! Amen!! Good morning and have a productive day!!!
