Jeremiah 1:19; "They will fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you."
By REV. FR. PAUL ANIGBORO

Today we celebrate the Martyrdom of John the Baptist, a man who stood for truth and justice even to the point of death. His courage in proclaiming God's word even in the face of persecution and trials makes him stand out. John was a mouth piece of God and in him, the first reading of today is fulfilled.

We celebrate a man of valour and great courage. He stood for truth and justice even to the point of death. We need to ask ourselves what do I really stand for as a Christian? What is my identity? What am I ready to die for? A man or woman of truth will have several enemies in this world but he or she will be a friend of God. Let us take a stand for God and he will always be there to deliver us.

Lord, make me an instrument of truth and justice everywhere I find myself. Amen.

Good morning and do have a wonderful day. God loves you.
