Homilies/Reflections

Acts 11:24; "Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord."
By REV. FR. PAUL ANIGBORO

Today we celebrate Saint Barnabas, a close collaborator of Saint Paul. Luke describes him as a good man and was nicknamed Son of Encouragement. Barnabas was always ready for any task no matter how difficult it may be. He does not see problem in any situation but sees solution. The mission in Antioch was a difficult one but it ended up becoming a successful one, that the name Christian even came from that place due to the exemplary lifestyle of Barnabas and Paul.

Barnabas was able to achieve a lot during his lifetime because he was filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. Let us learn from this good man. Let us not always see problem in every situation but solution. Once we are filled with the Holy Spirit, God will surely help us find way out of every difficult situation.

Lord, as we take up our daily task this week, fill us with your spirit and go before us in all we do and say. May every difficult mountain be turned to a valley for us. Amen.

Good morning and do have a wonderful week ahead. God loves you.
