Luke 1:38; "Behold I am the handmaid of the Lord, let it be done to me as you have said."
By REV. FR. PAUL ANIGBORO

Today we celebrate the Annunciation of the Lord. The high point of this celebration is the FIAT of Mary when she accepted to be the Mother of Jesus. She described herself as the handmaid of the Lord. A handmaid is someone whose essential function is to assist. She co-operated with God to assist in bringing God's salvation into the world.

As we celebrate this feast today, we are called to emulate Mary in her humility and obedience. She accepted God's will in humility. Let us also be obedient by being ready to listen to God's word and to keep his commandments always. Let us become God's handmaid or handyman by being an authentic witness to his Ressurection by the way we live our lives.

As good news was delivered to Mary, may you receive good news throughout this week and may God grant success to the works of your hands. Amen.

Good morning and do have a wonderful week ahead. God loves you.
