V. REV. FR FINTAN DALY, SMA, who has been described as a rare gem and true missionary who gave everything for the service of God and humanity for more than 50 years in the service of Ibadan Archdiocese passed away peacefully on Ash Wednesday evening (February 22, 2023) in his room in Blackrock Road, Cork. He was 85 years of age. Until his death, he was the Parish Priest of St. Leo Catholic Church, Challenge in Nigeria. Fr Daly represented the remnant of the history of Catholicism in Ibadan, and is going to be greatly missed. Our loss has become Heaven's gain. 

Please let us remember at this time to pray for the SMA families, the family members of Fr. Daly, and as well continue to offer Masses for the happy repose of his soul. He has since then been buried on February 28, 2023.

May the soul of Fr. Fintan Daly and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
