FR ONUGHA CELEBRATES 10TH ANNIVERSARY, LASOKUN, IBADAN

-VINCENT ADEMILUYI

REV. FR PAUL ASAWALE, administrator, Claverianum Press and parish priest, St Andrew, Oke Bola, Ibadan, has said that catholic priests are prophets who have been ordained to lead the people and tell the truth no matter whose ox is gored.

Fr Asawale made this assertion during his homily at the harvest thanksgiving of St Lawrence parish, Lasokun  and 10th priestly anniversary of Rev. Fr Francis Onugha on Sunday 5 August.

Fr Asawale described the celebrant as a leader born and made through God’s commissioning and teaching.

“Fr Francis is a dreamer, a goal-getter, who pursues his dreams and actualises them. He urged the celebrant to tighten his belt for the responsibilities ahead because 10 years in the priesthood “is not a time for rest.”

The homilist urged the parishioners and guests to donate generously because the proceeds of the harvest and the anniversary would be used to complete the ongoing construction of the Father’s house and parish hall.

Fr Francis, the chief celebrant at the Mass, was assisted by Rev. Frs Darlington, Emerue and Adesugba as concelebrants.
